SHIRLEY BRAUKER  - CLAY BOWL

With a Master of Arts Degree from Central Michigan University, Shirley Brauker is able to combine her acquired knowledge with her native American background to create truly remarkable pieces of Pottery and Sculpture.
Brauker's pieces are made from stoneware clay and high-fired to give strength and durability. The glazes chosen reflect the design of each piece. Most of the pieces tell a story of her ancestors through carved pictures and symbols. Tribal legends are retold and therefore saved for posterity through the intricately carved pieces.
