BETTY KLOOSTER TYLER 1988. Size: 4 ft x 4 ft. Price: 1950.00
Betty Klooster Tyler has been compared by some to painter Georgia O'Keefe. Not denying the influence of O'Keefe's work on her own development, she gives more credit to having grown up on a farm outside of Charlevoix, MI. Betty learned to name the wildflowers and plants in her environment at an early age from her parents. As she grew older, her father always had an extensive garden to use as studies for her dramatic magnified paintings of flowers. As a child she spent hours at the kitchen table drawing with her siblings (there are five girls and one boy in the family). Her formal interest in art continued and culminated in a Master of Art degree from CMU. Tyler has exhibited widely in the Midwest and nationally Her art has been chosen to exhibit in the prestigious Detroit Institute of Arts "Art and Flower Show" . |
