Philip Krum, a native of Michigan, studied art at Central Michigan University. He gave up a strong commercial art background to try the "fine art waters".
His observations of the textures and patterns in the natural world inspire the imaginative use of oil pastels. His love of texture is also witnessed in his hand made paper sculptures.
Krum grew up in the woodlands of Northern Michigan and now resides in Mt. Pleasant, Ml.
